Job Description
BDI Marine Contractors, LLC is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee and manage the financial operations of our growing construction company. This position is responsible for financial planning, reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, job costing oversight, and supporting executive leadership with strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong construction accounting experience, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of project-based financial management. Responsibilities Oversee all company financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting Manage cash flow, banking relationships, lines of credit, and financial planning Review and analyze job costing, WIP reports, project profitability, and budget variances Work closely with ownership, project managers, and operations teams to monitor project financial performance Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, and collections Prepare financial statements, reports, and analysis for ownership Assist with bonding, insurance renewals, audits, and lender reporting Ensure compliance with tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements Develop and improve internal financial controls, policies, and procedures Supervise and support accounting/administrative staff as needed Provide strategic financial guidance to support company growth and profitability Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required CPA, MBA, or similar advanced credential preferred Experience with Deltek Computerease Preferred Minimum of 5 years of financial leadership experience, preferably in the construction industry Strong knowledge of construction accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, retainage, AIA billing, and project financials Experience with bonding, insurance, audits, and financial reporting Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work closely with ownership and department leaders Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel Experience with construction accounting software preferred Qualifications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Professional, dependable, and confidential Strong understanding of financial strategy, risk management, and operational efficiency Schedule Full-time position Monday through Friday In-office position
