Position Overview Comprehensive Prosthetics & Orthotics (CPO) is seeking a Certified Orthotic Fitter (CFo) to join our clinical team in the Chicago North region . This is a hands-on patient care role focused on the fitting, adjustment, and delivery of prefabricated orthoses, off-the-shelf orthotic devices, and soft-goods products. You'll work alongside Certified Prosthetists/Orthotists, physicians, therapists, technicians, and patient services teams to help patients improve comfort, mobility, function, and independence. At CPO, our Orthotic Fitters work in a collaborative clinical environment with strong clinical, technical, and administrative support . This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys direct patient interaction, problem-solving, and working as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. This position supports CPO clinics throughout the Chicago North region , with travel based on patient and clinic needs. What You'll Do Fit, deliver, and adjust prefabricated, off-the-shelf, and soft-goods orthoses within applicable certification scope and clinical standards. Measure patients and select appropriately sized orthotic devices based on clinical needs and practitioner direction. Modify and troubleshoot orthotic devices to improve fit, comfort, function, and patient satisfaction. Assist Certified Prosthetists/Orthotists and other clinicians with implementation of patient treatment plans. Educate patients and caregivers on proper device use, wear schedules, care, and expectations. Provide appropriate follow-up support and address device-related concerns within certification scope. Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in accordance with Medicare, HIPAA, payer, and CPO requirements. Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams regarding device ordering, inventory, and patient needs. Maintain an organized, safe, and compliant clinical environment. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, clinicians, technicians, and patient services staff to support positive patient outcomes. Required Qualifications Current Certified Orthotic Fitter (CFo) credential. Working knowledge of orthotic principles, biomechanics, prefabricated orthoses, and soft-goods fitting techniques. Ability to properly measure, fit, adjust, and educate patients regarding orthotic devices. Strong communication skills with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation. Ability to work effectively within a collaborative clinical environment. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a prosthetics and orthotics, rehabilitation, DME, orthopedic, or related healthcare environment. Familiarity with Medicare documentation requirements and healthcare reimbursement processes. Associate degree or additional education in a healthcare-related field. Experience working with physicians, therapists, or interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams. Schedule & Location Full-time Primarily Monday-Friday Daytime clinical schedule, with hours varying based on clinic and patient needs Supports CPO locations throughout the Chicago North region Local travel between clinics may be required based on patient and operational needs Compensation Salary range: $55,000-$70,000 annually , based on experience, certification, clinical proficiency, and demonstrated competency.
