Job Description
Job DescriptionJob DescriptionLHH Recruitment Solutions (pka Parker+Lynch) is working with a longtime trusted construction client looking for a Controller due to succession planning. This role will have growth to CFO level eventually, will have an established environment and a very positive culture. The ideal candidate has a history of accounting leadership in a construction environment. Duties below subject to change on updating and candidate skillset.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting & Financial Management Manage general ledger, account reconciliations, and period-end close Oversee AP, AR, payroll coordination, and cash management Maintain fixed assets, recurring entries, and tax filings Ensure GAAP compliance and consistent accounting policies Support annual audit preparation and external reporting Project & Job Cost Support Review job cost data, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition Support project managers with budgets, change orders, and cost updates Prepare and analyze project status and cost-to-complete reporting Maintain accurate cost standards and labor/overhead metrics Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and KPIs Assist in budget development, forecasting, and corporate reporting Monitor performance vs. plan; identify risks and opportunities Process Improvement & Systems Strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures Support ERP enhancements or system implementation projects Recommend improvements to workflows and reporting toolsQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 7+ years progressive accounting experience, ideally in a construction environment Knowledge of WIP reporting, job costing, AP/AR, and payroll processes Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail Experience working cross-functionally with operations Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (Sage, QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.) CPA preferred but not requiredBENEFITS
