We are currently seeking a high-impact construction Chief Financial Officer to oversee all financial, accounting, and control functions for our rapidly growing construction organization in Rockland, Maine•a renowned coastal destination celebrated for its tourism, waterfront culture, and world-famous lobster industry. This role is ideal for a senior finance leader who brings both strategic vision and hands-on expertise to support disciplined growth and long-term enterprise value creation.
As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will report directly to the President and operate from the company's corporate office, serving as a trusted advisor on financial performance, risk management, and operational decision-making across the construction platform.
The construction service provided includes general construction, construction management and design build services for commercial, light industrial and multifamily building projects throughout ME, NH and VT.

Core Responsibilities
Direct all financial and accounting activities, including forecasting, budgeting, cash management, banking relationships, insurance programs, audits, tax compliance, and internal controls
Partner with executive leadership to align financial strategy with operational objectives and company expansion plans
Lead, coach, and develop accounting and finance professionals while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and best practices
Work closely with project teams, clients, and external partners to support contract administration, cost control, and financial performance on large-scale construction and infrastructure initiatives
Drive the implementation and optimization of financial systems and reporting tools that enable timely, data-driven insights
Candidate Profile
Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience within the construction industry•mandatory!
Demonstrated tenure with a reputable construction organization (General Contractor, Construction Manager, EPC, Design-Build, Civil, or Specialty Contractor)
Track record of leadership in financial operations, controls, and team development
Strong command of strategic planning, budgeting, audit and tax processes, and ERP/accounting platforms
Effective communicator with strong analytical judgment and executive presence
Open to experienced CFOs as well as senior Controllers or Vice Presidents of Finance ready to advance into a chief financial role
