Position Overview Our client, a growing manufacturing company based in the Detroit area, is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, driving strategic planning, improving profitability, and supporting the company's continued growth. This individual will partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to provide financial insights that support operational excellence and long-term business objectives. Key Responsibilities Lead all accounting, finance, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting functions. Develop and execute financial strategies that align with company goals and growth initiatives. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support executive decision-making. Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and capital planning. Drive operational efficiency and cost-containment initiatives across manufacturing operations. Establish and monitor KPIs related to profitability, inventory management, production performance, and working capital. Manage relationships with banks, auditors, insurance providers, and external financial partners. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, internal controls, and reporting requirements. Support mergers, acquisitions, financing activities, and strategic investments as needed. Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team. Partner with operations, supply chain, and manufacturing leadership to improve financial performance and scalability. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred. 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including prior CFO, VP Finance, or Corporate Controller experience. Manufacturing industry experience required. Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing operations. Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning & analysis. Experience supporting growth-oriented organizations and driving process improvements. Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills. Experience with ERP systems and advanced financial reporting tools. Preferred Experience Experience in multi-site manufacturing environments. Private equity-backed or closely held company experience is a plus. Experience leading strategic initiatives, acquisitions, or expansion efforts.
