Full-time About the Role Winncoe Capital provides senior secured, asset-based lending to lower-middle-market companies. Many of our borrowers are growing fast, going through a transition, or working without a strong finance function. As Chief Financial Officer - Client Advisory, you'll work directly with these companies as a hands-on CFO. You'll strengthen their accounting, reporting and operations so they can run better businesses and be well-prepared, reliable borrowers. This isn't a traditional in-house CFO job. You'll work across a portfolio of client companies, often several at once, and step into whatever each one needs. That could be cleaning up the books and building a monthly close, preparing a borrowing base, building a 13-week cash flow, or advising ownership through a turnaround. The ideal candidate is a practical operator with deep accounting skills, sound commercial judgment and the credibility to earn the trust of business owners quickly. This role is based in our West Palm Beach office and will involve periodic travel to client sites. Responsibilities Assess each client's accounting, reporting and financial controls, then build and carry out a plan to fix the gaps. Lead or oversee the monthly close and produce accurate, timely GAAP-based financial statements. Prepare and review lender reporting, including borrowing base certificates, AR and AP agings, inventory reports and covenant compliance calculations. Build and maintain 13-week cash flow forecasts, budgets and operating projections, and use them to drive decisions on liquidity and working capital. Improve working capital management, including collections, vendor terms, inventory controls and cash discipline. Put practical systems and processes in place, such as accounting software, AP/AR workflows, payroll oversight and internal controls, sized to each company. Advise owners and management on profitability, pricing, cost control and operational improvements. Support clients through transitions such as refinancings, recapitalizations, acquisitions and restructurings, including diligence preparation and lender and investor communications. Act as the link between client management and Winncoe's underwriting and portfolio teams, and flag emerging risks early. Where needed, serve as interim or fractional CFO on a client engagement. Qualifications 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including senior roles such as CFO, Controller or VP Finance in lower-middle-market or privately held companies. A CPA is strongly preferred. Strong command of GAAP, financial statement preparation and month-end close. Hands-on experience with asset-based lending, borrowing base reporting and lender covenants. Experience at an ABL lender, turnaround firm or advisory practice is a plus. Proven ability to build cash flow forecasts and financial models that owners and lenders can rely on. Experience in turnaround, restructuring or interim CFO work is highly valued. Comfort with common SMB accounting platforms (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, etc.) and advanced Excel. Ability to walk into an unfamiliar business, diagnose issues quickly and get things fixed with limited resources. Excellent communication skills. You can explain financial realities plainly to owners, lenders and management teams. Sound judgment, discretion and a high level of integrity. Why Winncoe You'll work with a lean, experienced team at the intersection of lending and operations, with real impact on the companies we finance. Each engagement is different, and your work will directly shape how our clients perform and grow.
