San Antonio, TX Mission Road Ministries is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership for our mission-driven nonprofit serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will oversee all financial operations, guide long-term financial strategy, and serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team. Responsibilities Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Oversee accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, cash management, and financial reporting Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit regulations, audits, and Form 990 requirements Partner with executive leadership and the Board on financial strategy and organizational growth Manage government funding, Medicaid waivers, grants, and regulatory compliance Lead and develop a finance team of seven employees while improving systems and processes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business (required) CPA strongly preferred; MBA or MPA preferred 8+ years of progressive financial leadership experience 3+ years in a senior finance leadership role (CFO, VP of Finance, Controller, or similar) Experience managing budgets of $10M+ Nonprofit, healthcare, human services, or IDD experience preferred Knowledge of Medicaid funding, grants, and government contracts is a plus.
