Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking a Default Servicing Specialist - Claims & REO to join our mortgage servicing team. In this role, you will review and monitor default servicing activities to ensure compliance with investor, agency, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has experience with mortgage default servicing, strong analytical skills, and a passion for identifying risks and improving processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in default servicing, claims, foreclosure, bankruptcy, REO, loss mitigation, or mortgage servicing quality control who is looking to grow with a stable and professional organization. Responsibilities Perform quality control reviews and oversight testing on default servicing activities. Review non-performing mortgage loans for compliance with investor, agency, federal, state, and internal servicing requirements. Analyze servicing activity and identify operational, regulatory, or borrower risks. Document findings and provide recommendations for corrective action. Work with internal departments and servicing partners to resolve servicing issues and improve processes. Identify trends and recommend process improvements to reduce risk. Maintain accurate documentation of quality reviews and testing results. Update procedures, testing guides, and documentation as servicing requirements change. Assist with special projects and additional servicing oversight responsibilities as assigned. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of mortgage default servicing experience Strong knowledge of: Fannie Mae (FNMA) Freddie Mac (FHLMC) Ginnie Mae (GNMA) FHA, VA, and investor servicing requirements Experience reviewing loans in default, foreclosure, bankruptcy, claims, REO, or loss mitigation. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with MSP (ICE Mortgage Technology/Black Knight). High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
