Job Description

MCRCSIP is made up of a small group of accountants, attorneys, claims adjusters, and loss prevention experts trying to help our members resolve diverse issues related to their road commission operations and employees, while managing our responsibilities to our members and Board of Directors. We deal with insurance, governmental immunity, auto liability and no-fault, employment practices liability, government property insurance and support 4,000 people that work every day in government service to the public. We need a motivated individual to join our Claims Department! You'll join a team that provides excellent member service while ensuring that claims are handled efficiently, effectively and accurately. Please note:
This is an in-person, on-site position located in East Lansing, MI.
Responsibilities include:
Investigate and process claims filed by policyholders and/or third parties Evaluate coverage and losses to ascertain compensation if appropriate Work with the third-party administrator to process claims filed by third parties Work with Claims Director and Administrator to meet service standards and timelines as appropriate Effectively communicate relevant claim information to others as needed Manage and prioritize multiple projects as necessary Provide outstanding Member service
Knowledge, Skills, Experience:
Five years or more of experience in areas relevant to our claims (property and liability insurance, legal defense, governmental) College graduate preferred Licensed adjuster preferred Excellent communication skills Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively Proficient in clerical duties such as filing and data entry Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
