This position is well suited for someone who can manage complex files, coordinate with legal and medical stakeholders, and maintain high standards of compliance and documentation. The role requires strong judgment, clear communication, and the ability to work independently while contributing to effective claim resolution and service excellence.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a portfolio of workers' compensation matters, including complex or high-exposure files, from initial review through resolution.
  • Analyze claim details to assess compensability, determine benefit eligibility, and facilitate appropriate medical and indemnity payments in line with Minnesota regulations and organizational guidelines.
  • Partner with medical providers, attorneys, and internal teams to organize care plans, support return-to-work efforts, and advance settlement strategies.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough claim records and ensure all reporting, documentation, and file activity are completed within required timelines.
  • Support mediations, settlement discussions, and hearings by preparing materials, coordinating case information, and working closely with outside counsel when needed.
  • Work collaboratively with legal, medical, and risk management resources to drive sound claim outcomes and consistent file handling practices.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce claim costs, encourage early intervention, and recognize indicators of potential fraud or unnecessary exposure.
  • Share insights on claim patterns, injury trends, and prevention practices to help stakeholders improve risk awareness and decision-making.
  • Monitor legal, regulatory, and industry developments affecting workers' compensation and apply updates to daily claim handling practices.
