Description and Requirements General Description:
Responsible for handling marine, auto, property, and general liability claims.
Responsibilities:
Inspect losses for adjustment parameters. Review claims and meet with clients. Attend depositions, mediations, and trials as needed. Retain and monitor activity of outside adjusters/appraisers and other experts. Communicate with management and underwriting team on larger, more complex claims. Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate resolution of complex claims. Work in accordance with company guidelines and best claims practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
5+ years of general liability insurance claim experience, specialty claims insurance adjustor experience, or a combination of both. High school diploma or graduate equivalent degree required. College degree preferred. Requires claims adjusting license in all operating states. Extensive knowledge and understanding of working with specialty and general liability claims. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products. Ability to analyze complex problems involving varying viewpoints and to develop viable solutions. Strong project management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills. Ability to handle larger and more complex claims.
