New York State Adjuster License Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Liability Claims Adjuster to manage automobile, bodily injury, and general liability casualty claims across multiple jurisdictions. This position is responsible for investigating and evaluating claims, interpreting policy coverage, assessing liability and damages, and developing appropriate reserve and settlement strategies. The successful candidate will independently manage both litigated and non-litigated claims while communicating regularly with claimants, attorneys, investigative service providers, and other involved parties. Key Responsibilities Review policy information and interpret applicable coverage. Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve automobile, bodily injury, and general liability claims. Manage both litigated and non-litigated claims across multiple jurisdictions. Work closely with outside counsel, investigators, and other service providers to advance claims toward resolution. Maintain an accurate diary and ensure all required activities are completed promptly. Continually evaluate claim exposure and establish accurate reserves. Develop and communicate effective settlement recommendations and strategies. Prepare detailed loss reports analyzing coverage, liability, damages, and potential exposure. Identify opportunities for subrogation or risk transfer and initiate recovery efforts when applicable. Document all correspondence, discussions, reports, evaluations, and decisions within the claim file. Provide responsive and professional service throughout the claims process. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. At least three years of automobile and general liability casualty claims experience. Active New York State Adjuster License required. Experience handling coverage issues, litigation management, liability investigations, and claim valuation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Advanced analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Ability to independently manage an assigned caseload with minimal supervision. Strong computer and claims-management system proficiency. Preferred Qualifications Active adjuster licenses in multiple states. Experience evaluating litigated claims across multiple jurisdictions. Strong understanding of industry claims-handling practices and standards. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills. Ability to manage relationships effectively in a fast-paced environment. Sound judgment and the ability to evaluate complex claims accurately. Flexible, resourceful, and capable of responding efficiently to changing priorities. Work Environment This is a fully remote, work-from-home opportunity. Candidates must be able to work independently, manage deadlines, maintain accurate claim documentation, and provide consistently high-quality service.
