Job Summary Donegal Insurance Group has an opening for a SIU Desk Investigator that is part of the Special Investigation Unit. As a member of our Claims team, this position will be responsible for overseeing the handling of claim cases and investigative support that require special investigative skills and experience. Some travel may be required. The position will require extensive database inquiries to assist the claims department in the resolution of claims as well as investigating suspicious insurance claims and insurance related activity. This position will require conducting interviews and recorded statements as well as pre-surveillance assessments. The SIU Desk Investigator will perform extensive open source social media investigations and comprehensive investigative inquiries. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong PC skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are required. This position is physically based in the Marietta, PA office with transition to a hybrid schedule upon successful completion of training. Responsibilities and Duties Investigate claims involving potential or suspected fraudulent activities Conduct comprehensive database inquiries to assist the Claim Department in resolving claims Conduct extensive open source social media investigations and generate comprehensive reports Assist in designated assignments related to Company anti-fraud initiatives Establish and maintain professional working relationships with attorneys, corporate employees, criminal justice agencies and vendors Assist in the training of Claim Department personnel in the areas of fraud detection and investigation Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's Degree Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Insurance Fraud or Insurance related experience Law enforcement investigation experience preferred Experience conducting open source social media investigations preferred Data analysis/Investigative Analyst experience is a plus Microsoft Excel, Access and Word Combination of education and investigative experience considered
