Potential Georgia Lead Investigator Position Overview The Contract Private Investigator will handle assignments primarily throughout Savannah and the surrounding area.
Assignments may include:
Surveillance Infidelity investigations Child custody investigations Cohabitation investigations Criminal defense investigations Civil investigations Witness interviews Locates and skip tracing Background investigations Attorney-directed investigations Activity checks Photographic and video documentation Evidence and document collection Process service associated with investigative assignments Other lawful investigative services Investigators must be able to work independently and exercise sound professional judgment in the field. Blue Falcons Investigation will provide the objective and authorized scope of each assignment. The investigator will be expected to determine the appropriate lawful investigative approach necessary to accomplish that objective.
Compensation Starting rate:
$30.00 per approved billable investigative hour. This is an independent contractor position. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours, weekly schedule, or case volume. Primary Responsibilities The investigator may be responsible for: Conducting stationary and mobile surveillance Maintaining discretion while documenting subject activity Capturing clear photographs and video Conducting interviews and gathering information Researching individuals, locations, businesses, and records Preparing detailed investigative reports Maintaining accurate case notes and time records Properly documenting and preserving evidence Communicating significant developments during active investigations Meeting case deadlines Testifying regarding investigative observations when necessary Maintaining strict confidentiality Surveillance Expectations Applicants must be comfortable conducting extended surveillance assignments.
This may involve:
Sitting in a vehicle for extended periods Early mornings Evenings Late nights Weekends Holidays Mobile surveillance Day and nighttime operations Extended periods with little or no subject activity Investigators must understand that surveillance requires patience, discipline, attention to detail, and sound decision-making. Investigative reports must distinguish between what was actually observed and what may only be suspected. Report Writing Strong report-writing ability is required.
Reports must be:
Accurate Objective Detailed Professional Chronological when appropriate Supported by observations or evidence Suitable for review by attorneys, clients, and potentially the court Reports should not contain unsupported conclusions, exaggeration, speculation presented as fact, or unnecessary personal opinions.
Minimum Qualifications Applicants should have:
Must currently have a Private Investigator license with more than 2 years experience Legal eligibility to perform private investigative work in Georgia Ability to meet applicable Georgia registration and licensing requirements Valid driver's license Reliable transportation Reliable smartphone Computer and internet access Ability to conduct surveillance independently Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail Professional judgment Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to produce quality photographs and video Ability to work independently Ability to testify in court if necessary Applicants must also be able to satisfy any background, licensing, or qualification requirements applicable to the position. Preferred Experience Preference may be given to applicants with experience in: Private investigations Law enforcement investigations Detective assignments Criminal investigations Narcotics investigations Surveillance Military investigations Intelligence Fraud investigations Insurance investigations Domestic investigations Child custody investigations Criminal defense investigations Witness interviews Court testimony Professional investigative report writing Prior law enforcement or military experience is welcomed but is not required. Geographic Coverage Primary assignments may include: Savannah Chatham County Pooler Garden City Port Wentworth Richmond Hill Bryan County Effingham County Rincon Guyton Pembroke Other areas of Georgia Travel outside the primary service area may occasionally be offered and will be discussed before the investigator accepts the assignment. Professional Expectations Investigators representing Blue Falcons Investigation are expected to: Be truthful Be dependable Protect confidential information Communicate professionally Follow applicable laws and licensing requirements Maintain accurate billing and time records Meet agreed-upon deadlines Immediately report significant case developments Avoid conflicts of interest Treat clients, attorneys, witnesses, subjects, and members of the public professionally Falsification of reports, hours, expenses, evidence, or investigative activity will not be tolerated. Independent Contractor Relationship This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity. Assignments will generally be offered on a case-by-case basis based on investigative needs and contractor availability. Investigators may accept or decline assignments based on availability, subject to obligations associated with assignments they have already accepted. There is no guaranteed salary, minimum weekly schedule, or guaranteed case volume. Investigators are generally responsible for maintaining their own transportation, communication devices, and ordinary investigative equipment. Confidentiality Investigators may have access to highly sensitive information involving: Family disputes Children Criminal allegations Divorce and custody matters Financial information Attorneys and their clients Witnesses Businesses Court proceedings Case information may not be disclosed to unauthorized individuals or discussed on social media, online forums, investigator groups, personal websites, or other unauthorized platforms. Opportunity for Growth An investigator who consistently demonstrates strong performance may be considered for advancement into a Georgia Lead Investigator role. That opportunity would be based on demonstrated: Investigative ability Reliability Integrity Report quality Professional judgment Communication Client service Ability to handle complex investigations Ability to coordinate cases Ability to work effectively with attorneys Leadership ability Knowledge of the Savannah and surrounding Georgia market Potential lead responsibilities may include helping coordinate Georgia assignments, reviewing investigative reports, assisting with case logistics, supporting other contract investigators, and helping develop professional relationships within the Savannah market. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who does not require constant supervision. The ideal investigator can receive the objective of a case, understand the assignment, ask appropriate questions when necessary, conduct the investigation professionally, document what occurred, and provide a report that can withstand scrutiny.
