Job Description

Job Summary As the Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the life cycle of product-related claims, from creation and filing of the claim with manufacturers/suppliers, through collection of credit, and final closeout of the issue. You will work closely with our production team to collect information needed for claim submission, then work with the manufacturer/supplier on claim processing and resolution. The successful candidate will be organized and detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping skills and a good ability to communicate with internal and external parties. Under general supervision, this position will be able to manage a full claim workload with minimal assistance and be responsible for making sound decisions within delegated authority. General Responsibilities Create and update the status of all product-related claims within the system Work with production and service team to collect pictures, videos, and samples of defective/damaged products Submit required paperwork with the manufacturer/supplier to initiate the claim Coordinate 3rd party inspection of defective materials, if required Obtain claim authorization or return authorization from the manufacturer/supplier in a timely manner Work with accounting team on receipt and accurate posting of credit from the manufacturer/supplier Review rejected or disputed claims and escalate to direct supervisor Manage and report on claims receivables Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other materials for internal customers Develop and maintain good working relationships with suppliers, production, purchasing, warehousing, accounting, and other professionals Qualifications 2+ years' experience in claims/disputes Excellent time management skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Good verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in basic computer skills that include but are not limited to data entry, Excel, MS Outlook, Internet Knowledge of residential new construction process (preferred but not required) Benefits Medical, dental and vision insurance FSA with debit card 401(k) employer match Bonus opportunities Paid Vacation PTO Paid Holidays Annualized reviews for merit increases Potential for advancement
