This is not a Hybrid or work from home position. As a Claims Specialist, you'll have the opportunity to work across Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Auto, Equipment, and Property Damage claims while partnering directly with our business units, employees, insurance carriers, and third-party providers. You'll gain exposure to multiple states and different areas of the business while becoming a trusted resource within Sterling's Corporate Risk and Safety team. Position Description What You'll Do As our Claims Specialist, you'll help manage the day-to-day claims process for designated Sterling business units, including: Manage Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Auto, Equipment, and Property Damage claims reporting though resolution Partner with employees, business units, insurance carriers, and third-party providers throughout the claims process Review Claims documentation, medical bills, payroll records, payments and reserves for accuracy Participate in carrier and internal claim reviews and help identify next steps on open claims Monitor Workers' Compensation claims, including medical treatment, investigations, rehabilitation and return-to-work efforts Help employees understand Workers' Compensation benefits and requirements across multiple states Position Requirements What We're Looking For 1-3 years of experience handling or adjusting Workers' Compensation claims, including multi-state claims 1-3 years of experience with General Liability and Automobile claims, including claims processing, reporting, investigation, and reserves Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple claims and priorities at once Comfortable communicating with employees, business leaders, insurance carriers, and third parties Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 2+ years of college preferred Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus
