The role ensures that products manufactured at each facility meet Ninth Avenue Foods' quality standards, as well as all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing product identity and food safety. The successful candidate must understand and comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, instructions, and federal, California and Indiana regulations relevant to this position, which are written in English. Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, product quality standards, and food safety standards across multiple plants in collaboration with each plant's Quality Manager. Support plant readiness for regulatory, customer, and third-party inspections, including but not limited to CDFA, FDA, PMO, customer audits, and certification audits. Coordinate responses to regulatory findings, audit observations, and emerging compliance trends to ensure timely resolution. Follow up and maintain reports related to inspections, customer complaints, audit findings, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). Manage the Vendor Approval Program, including supplier qualification, risk assessments for new ingredients and packaging materials, vendor performance monitoring, and maintenance of approved supplier status. Investigate raw material and packaging material quality issues with suppliers and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) as needed. Coordinate customer documentation requests, including supplier questionnaires, onboarding surveys, product documentation, and portal submissions. Manage customer-specific compliance requirements, certifications, and sustainability documentation through customer portals and direct communications. Maintain records related to new products, process changes, certifications, and other Quality Systems documentation. Lead and coordinate Identity Preserved (IP) and certification programs, including Organic, RSPO, GFCO, Kosher, and other applicable customers audits or regulatory certifications. Support sourcing and sustainability initiatives by maintaining required documentation and responding to customer inquiries. Conduct employee training sessions and lead meetings related to Quality Systems, food safety, regulatory compliance, and customer requirements, as assigned. Participate in cross-functional teams and support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects assigned by the Quality Systems Manager or Director. Support new product development by reviewing formulations, ingredients, and labeling for regulatory compliance. Review and approve product labels, ingredient statements, nutrition facts, allergen declarations, and packaging to ensure regulatory compliance. Collaborate with Quality Assurance, R D, Operations, Procurement, and Sales to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
