Job Description

Are you a high-level import professional who thrives in an entrepreneurial, "no red tape" environment? If you are tired of rigid corporate structures and want to lead the compliance function for a rapidly expanding $100M global trading operation, this is your next career move. We are recruiting for a newly formed, high-growth sister company to an established industry leader in Miami. This is a startup environment with the backing of a massive existing customer base, moving between 300 to 400 containers per month. As the Import Compliance Manager, you won't just be pushing paper; you will own the entire import infrastructure, from selecting new customs brokers to setting up internal governance.
salary:
$100,000 - $111,000 per yearshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 4

Customs:
Act as the primary point of contact for CBP, managing research, formal rulings, and responding to inquiries (like CF29s).
Operational Oversight:
Manage customs broker performance and enforce documentation standards with overseas suppliers to ensure smooth port clearance.
Regulatory Compliance:
Navigate complex trade landscapes, including Anti-Dumping/Countervailing Duties (AD/CVD) and the Lacey Act.
Process Building:
Establish and implement standardized compliance workflows for a high-volume, $100M trading operation.
Risk & Cost Control:
Monitor regulatory changes to minimize delays, avoid penalties, and identify duty-saving opportunities.
Critical Documentation:
Direct the review of commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading to ensure 100% accuracy.
Classification & Valuation:
Act as the subject matter expert for HTS classification, valuation methodology, and Country of Origin (COO) labeling.
Broker Oversight:
Manage third-party customs brokers to ensure they are filing entries correctly and meeting performance KPIs.
