Our client is seeking a Director of Global Logistics Compliance to lead their North American compliance function and serve as a strategic and operational partner to the business. This role requires a hands-on, approachable compliance leader who can navigate a broad regulatory environment, provide practical guidance, develop teams, and help strengthen compliance processes and programs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day compliance questions and issues, while building strong relationships with leaders and employees throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop the North American compliance organization, including direct and indirect team members. Provide practical guidance and support to business leaders on a broad range of compliance matters. Oversee compliance programs related to export controls, sanctions, transportation regulations, security programs, dangerous goods, FDA, DOT, CTPAT, and other applicable requirements. Lead and support internal audits, government inspections, investigations, mitigation efforts, and voluntary disclosures. Develop, strengthen, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, SOPs, internal controls, and processes. Oversee third-party risk management, including supplier vetting, licensing, registrations, and related compliance requirements. Develop and deliver compliance training, communications, webinars, and educational programs throughout the organization. Monitor compliance metrics and identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the compliance function. Identify opportunities to leverage technology and automation to streamline compliance processes and reduce manual work. Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to proactively identify and resolve compliance risks. Occasionally participate in customer discussions to provide guidance and clarification on compliance matters. Foster a culture where compliance serves as a trusted business partner and resource across the organization. Mentor and develop compliance team members while continuing to build the overall maturity of the function.
Requirements:
Proven experience leading a broad corporate compliance function in a complex organization. Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, risk management, internal controls, audits, and compliance programs. Experience with areas such as export controls, sanctions, third-party risk, government regulations, or transportation-related compliance preferred. Strong people leadership skills with experience developing and mentoring teams. Ability to provide practical, business-oriented guidance while maintaining appropriate regulatory standards. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions when issues require immediate attention. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. Experience improving policies, procedures, processes, and compliance programs. Legal or transportation/freight experience is a plus but not required. Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or relevant professional credentials preferred.
Compensation:
$161,340-$242,000 annually + eligibility to earn a 20% performance-based bonus
