Supports functions of the Corporate Compliance Department of St. Tammany Health System (STHS or System) and the Executive Team. Serves as a regulatory resource for the System and provides advice on compliance with regulations. Provides compliance review in support of System operations for the Executive Team and Board of Commissioners. In conjunction with Chief Compliance Officer, provides direction and oversight of the System's Corporate Compliance Program (the "Program"), including: Identifying and assessing areas of compliance risk for the hospital; Communicating the importance of the Program to all colleagues; Preparing and distributing all Compliance policies and procedures; Developing and implementing educational compliance programs; Monitoring the internal compliance reporting processes, including the Compliance hotline; Serving as a member of the System's Corporate Compliance Committee and monitoring the Collaborating with the Executive Team and Board of Commissioners to effectively incorporate the Program within system operations Primary support to VP/Chief Compliance Officer in the ongoing management and oversight of the Program in order to facilitate the prevention of healthcare fraud and abuse and to promote the mission and vision of the System. Communicate critical information to leadership and governance when needed and in accordance with System policies and procedures. Responsible for oversight of and support to the System's Regulatory and Compliance Auditor. Manages System licensure, including preparing for, obtaining, and maintaining licensure with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) and other licensing agencies for STHS facilities and locations as needed. Prepares applications and functional programs and gathers supporting documentation for System licenses, as well as filing relevant paperwork with local, state, federal or other entity in the ordinary course of business and in response to special events or emergencies. Maintains records and submits the necessary documents to keep System licenses, permits and insurance coverage active. Maintain visibility and rounding in departments and units across the System; offer support to leaders, the medical staff and colleagues on compliance initiatives, policies, and processes; encourage collaboration and sharing of feedback on compliance at the department/unit level by attending department meetings.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field required. Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a hospital or healthcare system with experience in corporate compliance, credentialing, or licensing. Must possess a working knowledge of the operations of healthcare systems and pertinent healthcare practices and policies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed to support the preparation of written reports, documents, policies, and various other forms of communication among the healthcare team. Affinity for health systems policies and processes. Must be analytical and detail oriented. Ability to work independently, set priorities, manage complex processes and analysis of data, and maintain privacy, security, and confidentiality of STHS and patient protected health information and matters involving System activities. Strong communication skills, including verbal and written. Ability to build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues, State licensing staff and other subject matter experts. Ability to interpret complex information. Self-motivation; needs limited direction and supervision to carry out job functions; proficiency in Microsoft Office (required). Maintains professional knowledge, e.g., attends continuing education to maintain professional and STHS requirements.Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
