$95,000 - $115,000

Job Description This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, employee-focused environmental consulting organization that has built a strong reputation for delivering innovative solutions across industrial, environmental, and infrastructure projects. The Senior Air Permitting Project Manager will serve as a technical leader supporting industrial clients with complex air permitting and regulatory compliance initiatives throughout the Midwest. This role offers the opportunity to lead impactful projects, mentor junior staff, manage client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of a highly respected consulting practice. Primary responsibilities include developing and managing air permitting strategies, preparing permit applications, conducting emissions analyses, evaluating regulatory applicability, and supporting compliance programs for a diverse portfolio of industrial facilities. The successful candidate will collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal technical teams to deliver high-quality environmental solutions. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related technical field
  • Minimum 5 years of environmental consulting, compliance, or permitting experience
  • Strong expertise in air emissions permitting and air quality regulatory compliance
  • Experience preparing and managing air permit applications, emissions inventories, and compliance reporting
  • Knowledge of federal and state air programs including Title V, PSD/NSR, MACT, NSPS, and NESHAP regulations
  • Experience developing and managing environmental compliance programs including SPCC, SWPPP, and related regulatory programs
  • Ability to independently develop compliance plans and regulatory strategies
  • Experience supporting industrial manufacturing or processing facilities
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage projects, communicate with regulatory agencies, and maintain client relationships
  • Prior leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Midwest environmental regulations strongly preferred
  • Experience with air dispersion modeling is a plus
  • Professional certifications such as EIT, PE, CHMM, or similar credentials are highly desirable
  • Business development or client development experience is a plus
