Chief Operating Officer About the Role Mango Cannabis is looking for a hands-on Compliance Manager to help develop and strengthen our regulatory compliance program across multiple states. This is a field-based role for someone who understands cannabis retail operations, pays close attention to detail, and can turn complex regulations into clear expectations for store teams. The Compliance Manager will conduct store inspections, develop SOPs and training materials, track corrective actions, monitor regulatory changes, and help ensure every Mango location is prepared for an inspection every day. The ideal candidate will reside in Oklahoma or near Mango Cannabis's Michigan headquarters and must be comfortable traveling frequently to our locations and operating markets. You are not expected to know every regulatory answer on Day 1. You are expected to take ownership, research questions using reliable sources, ask for guidance when needed, and continuously develop your knowledge of each market in which Mango operates. What You'll Do Store Inspections and Compliance Readiness Conduct detailed internal compliance inspections at Mango Cannabis locations. Review store operations, inventory controls, licenses, records, signage, security requirements, and employee practices. Create and maintain state-specific inspection checklists and audit tools. Clearly document inspection findings, potential risks, and required corrective actions. Work with store and operational leaders to establish completion deadlines. Follow up to confirm corrective actions are completed and sustained. Identify repeat findings and recommend broader training, SOP, system, or process improvements. Support stores before, during, and after regulatory inspections. Multi-State Compliance Develop working knowledge of the cannabis regulations and licensing requirements in each state where Mango operates. Research compliance questions and confirm requirements using reliable regulatory sources. Translate regulations into practical expectations that store teams can understand and follow. Recognize when a question or risk should be escalated to leadership, legal counsel, regulators, or another subject-matter expert. Partner with Operations, HR, Inventory, Security, IT, Finance, Marketing, and other departments to incorporate compliance into everyday business practices. Training and SOP Development Develop clear and practical compliance training for employees and leaders. Create and maintain SOPs, checklists, visual guides, job aids, and inspection-preparation resources. Explain both what is required and why the requirement matters. Deliver compliance training to store employees, managers, and other departments. Maintain training records and track completion. Update training and procedures when repeat compliance issues are identified. Maintain an organized and centralized source for current compliance resources. Ensure outdated compliance materials are removed or clearly identified. Regulatory Monitoring and Licensing Monitor cannabis regulatory agencies, rule changes, guidance, communications, and enforcement activity. Evaluate how regulatory changes affect Mango's operations. Communicate changes in clear, practical language and track implementation through completion. Maintain an organized licensing database for business licenses, permits, registrations, renewals, and related deadlines. Coordinate license applications, renewals, amendments, ownership changes, and supporting documentation as assigned. Establish reminders and escalation processes well before licensing deadlines. Maintain accurate and accessible regulatory records. Reporting and Risk Management Track inspections, corrective actions, repeat findings, licensing deadlines, training completion, regulatory changes, and emerging risks. Provide leadership with clear visibility into compliance performance across locations. Promptly escalate significant or time-sensitive regulatory concerns. Support investigations involving potential regulatory violations. Recommend improvements based on trends across stores and states. Maintain complete and accurate compliance documentation. What We're Looking For Two or more years of experience in cannabis retail operations, store leadership, inventory, compliance, or another highly regulated operational environment preferred. Strong understanding of cannabis retail operations and the importance of compliance in daily store execution. Experience with METRC or another state-mandated cannabis track-and-trace system strongly preferred. Experience training, coaching, or providing guidance to employees or leaders. Ability to learn complex regulations and apply them accurately in an operational environment. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies, gaps, and potential risks. Strong organization and follow-through across multiple deadlines, locations, and open items. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to create clear SOPs, training materials, checklists, and documentation. Ability to provide constructive feedback and hold operational partners accountable. Sound judgment and the ability to recognize when an issue requires escalation. High degree of integrity, discretion, confidentiality, and accountability. High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in business, compliance, legal studies, criminal justice, public administration, or a related field preferred but not required. Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently. Ability to meet all applicable cannabis-industry background, licensing, registration, badging, and eligibility requirements. Travel and Work Expectations This is a highly field-based position requiring frequent travel to Mango Cannabis locations across multiple states. Regular day and overnight travel by automobile and commercial air travel is required. Travel may increase during new store openings, regulatory inspections, new market launches, licensing activity, or periods of elevated compliance risk. Some evening, weekend, or short-notice work may be required to respond to inspections, compliance concerns, licensing deadlines, or other time-sensitive business needs. Candidates must be able to stand and walk for extended periods while conducting inspections, access operational areas of licensed facilities, work at a computer for extended periods, and occasionally lift or transport materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be provided. About Mango Cannabis Mango Cannabis is a fast-growing, multi-state cannabis retailer focused on creating a great experience for our customers and our teams.
