Our global supply chain spans dozens of countries and supports a broad range of highly regulated products and international trade programs.
Position Description:
The Global Trade Compliance Program Manager is responsible for supporting Bass Pro Shops trade optimization, duty savings, and compliance initiatives through supplier engagement, documentation collection, project coordination, and data management. This position serves as a primary liaison between Bass Pro Shops, suppliers, manufacturers, factories, customs brokers, consultants, and internal business partners to obtain information required to support Free Trade Agreements (FTA), USMCA, First Sale valuation initiatives, excise tax refund programs, customs valuation reviews, duty recovery opportunities, country of origin validation, tariff mitigation initiatives, and supplier compliance programs. Coordinate supplier and factory outreach efforts to obtain trade-related documentation, certifications, and supporting records. Develop and maintain supplier relationships to improve responsiveness and data quality. Collect and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs), manufacturing records, supplier affidavits, origin certifications, cost breakdowns, and related compliance documentation. Support USMCA and other Free Trade Agreement projects by obtaining certifications and supporting records. Assist with existing and future First Sale initiatives by coordinating collection of factory pricing documentation and supporting valuation records. Support Federal Excise Tax refund initiatives through documentation gathering and record management. Maintain supplier certification databases and renewal tracking processes. Track project status, supplier participation, savings opportunities, and outstanding information requests. Analyze supplier data to identify additional trade savings opportunities. Assist with internal and external audits related to trade compliance programs. Prepare reports and management updates regarding project progress, supplier participation, savings opportunities, and compliance metrics. Partner with Merchandising, Product Development, Sourcing, Logistics, Finance, Legal, Customs Brokers, and external advisors. Support development and maintenance of trade compliance procedures and operating standards. Demonstrate commitment to Bass Pro Shops Core Values. Other duties as assigned.
QUANTITATIVE DIMENSIONS
This position supports Global Trade Compliance supporting US imports and exports to Canada and other international locations. Key focus areas are Federal Excise Tax recoveries and USMCA savings, with additional opportunities from First Sale expansion, FTAs, duty recovery, and tariff mitigation initiatives. The role will be measured by supplier participation, project completion, documentation quality, and support of trade savings initiatives.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSES
Bachelor's degree in Business, International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, or related discipline preferred. Trade Compliance certifications preferred (CCS, CES, LCB, or equivalent). Project management certification is a plus.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years of experience in Trade Compliance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sourcing, Customs Brokerage, or International Logistics. Experience working with overseas suppliers and factories preferred. Knowledge of USMCA, Free Trade Agreements, customs valuation, country-of-origin requirements, HTS classification, First Sale programs, duty recovery programs, and excise tax concepts preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to establish working relationships with associates, suppliers, and stakeholders at all levels.
