Fleet logistics and Compliance Manager American Recycling - 2.3 Lincoln, NE Job Details Full-time $52,000 - $60,000 a year 11 hours ago Benefits Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Employee discount Qualifications Asset management Route planning Dispatching Attention to detail Risk & issue management Full Job Description We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Fleet Logistics & Compliance Manager to lead our transportation department. In this dual-capacity role, you will be the heartbeat of our fleet operations—managing daily scheduling, routing, and dispatching while also serving as our internal safety officer to ensure 100% compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Key Responsibilities 1.
Logistics, Scheduling & Coordination Route Planning:
Design and optimize cost-effective, efficient daily and weekly routing plans for all company trucks.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Act as the primary liaison between the Marketing/Sales team, external customers, and drivers to seamlessly coordinate freight pickups.
Driver Lodging:
Manage and book motel accommodations and travel logistics for company drivers during over-the-road trips. 2.
Safety & DOT Compliance Driver Credentials:
Actively track and manage driver qualifications, including mandatory medical cards, commercial driver's licenses (CDLs), and hours-of-service (HOS) logs.
Drug & Alcohol Program:
Administer and arrange periodic, random, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing in accordance with DOT guidelines.
Safety Training:
Develop and conduct routine DOT safety training sessions for new hires and existing drivers to foster a culture of safety. 3.
Asset & Risk Management Fleet Maintenance:
Establish, schedule, and log periodic preventive maintenance and emergency repairs for all company trucks to minimize downtime.
Insurance Administration:
Manage the company's commercial auto insurance policy, handle renewals, process payments, and oversee claims management if incidents occur.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
3-5+ years of experience in fleet management, dispatching, or transportation logistics, ideally within a small to medium-sized business.
Compliance Knowledge:
Deep, working knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and driver qualification file requirements.
Software Tech:
Proficiency with Fleet Management Software, Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs), Samsara, and GPS tracking tools.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional multitasking abilities, strong negotiation skills for vendor management (insurance, hotels), and a firm but supportive leadership communication style with drivers.
Pay:
$52,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
