The Regulatory Operations team at Amazon Pharmacy is hiring a Regulatory Risk Manager with a strong eye for detail and a passion for compliance. As a Risk Manager, you are responsible for driving audit readiness across the organization. You will safeguard Amazon Pharmacy's compliance posture by owning and managing the end-to-end relationship with accrediting bodies. You will serve as the organization's subject matter expert on accreditation standards: coordinating due diligence reviews, interpreting evolving accreditation standards, and partnering cross-functionally to resolve compliance gaps with urgency. This role also serves as a peer mentor for new team members and supports team training and development. Successful candidates bring a proactive, detail-oriented approach combined with exceptional stakeholder management skills to navigate complex regulatory landscapes at scale. The Regulatory Risk Manager is agile and has the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Key job responsibilities
- Act as the intermediary between Amazon Pharmacy and external partners, i.e., Accreditation Agencies, Consultants, and Vendors.
- Own completion of the accreditation audit including evidence compilation, policy submission, personnel preparation, logistics coordination, and onsite review facilitation.
- Internal monitoring of operational processes to ensure Amazon Pharmacy's compliance with accreditation standards.
- Manage lifecycle of issued corrective actions. Engage cross-functional departments, key leadership, and operational teams to address deficiencies identified by accreditors or internal reviews within the required timeline.
- Collaborate with internal partners to ensure policies, personnel training, and resources remain current with evolving accreditation standards.
- Develop and deliver clear, actionable communications to business leadership and internal stakeholders regarding accreditation requirements, changes, and impact assessments.
- Participate in delegation audits and external regulatory reviews, preparing and supplying documentation and analysis as required.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accreditation processes, reduce manual effort, and implement scalable solutions that support Amazon Pharmacy's growth.
- Perform other duties assigned by leadership.
- Bachelor's degree, or 4+ years of equivalent experience
- 2+ years of healthcare compliance, accreditation, or regulatory auditing experience
- Can have an active and unrestricted pharmacy technician license or the ability to obtain a pharmacy technician license within 1 year of hire
- Experience in compliance, auditing, quality assurance, or regulatory affairs
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience in guiding, training and mentoring others
- Travel up to 25% of the time Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of Amazon/Amazon Pharmacy, or 2+ years of healthcare compliance, accreditation, or regulatory auditing experience
- Experience in risk management methodologies and process improvement initiatives
- Experience in program or project management including the delivery of cross-functional projects
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory bodies and frameworks, including Board of Pharmacy, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Medicaid, and applicable state/federal regulations
- Knowledge of leading accreditation entities such as Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), LegitScript, National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), and/or URAC
- Experience leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies in the workplace to streamline workflows, automate monitoring, and/or enhance process efficiency.
