Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Director of Compliance & Accreditation to lead our organization's compliance initiatives and accreditation efforts. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive compliance programs that align with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and industry best practices. Your leadership will ensure that our organization consistently meets or exceeds regulatory requirements, fosters a culture of quality and safety, and maintains accreditation status across relevant bodies. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence healthcare quality assurance and drive continuous process improvement within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and oversee organization-wide compliance strategies aligned with healthcare laws, regulations, and accreditation standards such as JCAHO (Joint Commission), CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services), and FDA regulations. Lead preparation for accreditation surveys and audits by coordinating documentation, staff training, and process reviews to ensure readiness at all times. Monitor changes in healthcare compliance policies including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 updates, and medical law to ensure ongoing adherence. Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement in compliance practices, quality assurance, and process efficiency. Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure proper documentation within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, including EMR/EHR management, coding accuracy, and data integrity. Lead initiatives related to quality improvement projects by analyzing data trends, implementing corrective actions, and tracking outcomes to enhance patient safety and organizational performance. Manage a team of compliance specialists by providing guidance on healthcare regulation policies, project management tasks, and process improvements while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning. Skills Extensive knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations including HIPAA privacy rules, CMS regulatory requirements, FDA regulations, JCAHO standards, Medicare policies, managed care frameworks, and medical law. Proficiency in
ICD-9/10/ICD
coding systems along with CPT coding for accurate billing and documentation processes. Strong project management skills with experience leading complex initiatives in healthcare settings; adept at process improvement methodologies. Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as EMR/EHR systems for data analysis and reporting purposes. Exceptional understanding of healthcare quality assurance practices and risk management strategies aimed at maintaining accreditation standards. Proven leadership abilities with experience managing multidisciplinary teams focused on compliance management and organizational excellence. Excellent communication skills to effectively train staff on regulatory updates and foster collaboration across departments. Analytical mindset with strong data analysis skills to interpret compliance metrics and identify opportunities for enhancement in healthcare delivery processes. $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
