Job Description
Quality & Compliance Manager Akron, OH 140k to 160k Position Overview The Site Quality & Compliance Manager will lead the site Quality function, including Quality Engineers, Inspectors, and Calibration Technicians, while ensuring product quality, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and operational effectiveness. This role manages the site Quality department and supports Division-wide quality initiatives within a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the site Quality team, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and development. Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System in compliance with
AS9100, AS9102, ISO
standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements. Serve as the primary site representative forFAA, EASA, DCMA, U.S.
Government, military, and customer quality requirements. Drive root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and continuous improvement usingRCCA, 8D, 5
Whys, Fishbone, A3, and DMAIC. Oversee Material Review Board (MRB), Quality Clinic, inspection, calibration, First Article Inspection (FAI), and quality engineering activities. Develop and monitor quality metrics, process capability, product conformity, and SPC/statistical improvement initiatives. Lead supplier quality activities, including audits, supplier development, corrective actions, and performance monitoring. Conduct quality system audits and implement improvements to support operational excellence and compliance. Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Customers, Suppliers, and leadership to resolve quality issues and improve processes. Support work transfers, outsourced service provider qualification, equipment moves, and machine capability studies. Promote a culture of accountability, quality, continuous improvement, and effective cross-functional communication. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. 5-10 years of progressive quality/manufacturing experience, preferably in machining and assembly; aerospace experience strongly preferred. Proven experience leading quality systems, quality teams, and compliance programs. Strong knowledge ofAS9100, AS9102, ISO
quality systems, and aerospace/government requirements. Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action, APQP, SPC, and structured problem solving. Supplier quality experience, including audits and corrective actions. Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and decision-making skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems; SAP, Q-Pulse, and CAPPS preferred. CQE, CQM, Lead Auditor, or equivalent certification preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt preferred; Black Belt strongly preferred. Power BI experience is a plus. #INDETMBenefits
