Full Job Description General Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Compliance, the Compliance Generalist is responsible for the investigation of reported ethics and compliance issues, monitoring and maintenance of Compliance/Risk Management software. Responsible for set-up and maintenance of Corporate Learning and Policy system.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Conduct internal investigations of alleged ethics and compliance violations, and/or of law, regulations or internal policies, coordinate action plan with Director of Compliance. 2. Responsible for implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of various Compliance/Risk Management software applications. 3. Coordinate Educational Clinical Affiliations with various Educational Institutions, Universities, for placement in medical offices. 4. Review and coordinate set up of outside users for various Toledo Clinic computer applications 5. Maintain current knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and standards. Participates in various committees. 6. Completes ad-hoc Corporate Compliance assignments as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Equivalent combination of education, professional training and work experience in Healthcare compliance and ethics. Comprehensive knowledge of False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, HIPAA, and other pertinent healthcare related laws and regulations. 3-5 years of related investigative experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong listening and observation skills. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Effective organizational and prioritization skills with multi-tasking ability. Ability to effectively present information to consumers, top management and staff in verbal and written formats. Ability to recognize the need for confidentiality of information and to maintain such confidences.
Preferred certifications:
Required:
Equivalent combination of education, professional training and work experience in ethics and compliance.
Preferred:
Certification in Healthcare Compliance, Ethics or Investigations
