Job Description

A bit about us We're an international IT and fulfillment company with teams in the US, UK, and Portugal. At our Hatfield, PA site, we run pick, pack, and ship operations for a global medical device manufacturer — real products, real deadlines, real responsibility. We are looking for a Compliance & Regulatory Operations Manager to join our 3PL administrative team. You will be based on our offices at Hatfield, PA. Life at The Virtual Forge We call ourselves Team Purple, and we mean it. Wherever you sit — US, the UK, or Portugal — you're part of one team, not a satellite office checking in with the head office. We're collaborative by default. Good ideas get heard whoever they come from, and you won't be left to figure things out alone — if you're stuck, someone will roll their sleeves up with you. We take growth seriously, not as a line in a job ad but as how we actually operate: this role itself is a good example, since we'd rather grow the right person into it than wait for a perfect match. And we protect work-life balance, because good work over years beats a burnt-out sprint every time. Above all, we're straightforward. We'll tell you plainly what the job involves, where you'll be stretched, and where we've got your back — the same way we've tried to write this ad.
The Role:
We're growing our 3PL operations team and looking for someone ready to own how we stay compliant across state and federal lines. You'll be the person who makes sense of licensing, regulatory filings, and audits — and who our operations, technical, and security teams turn to when they need a straight answer on "are we covered?" It's a role with real variety. One day you're renewing a state license, the next you're helping prep for an ISO audit, and the next you're walking a facility inspector through the warehouse floor. If you like solving puzzles, building relationships with regulators, and being the person who keeps a growing operation running smoothly, this could be a great fit. Don't tick every box? Neither did we, once. We'd rather hire for curiosity and the right foundations than a perfect-match resume. If you've got some grounding in compliance or regulated logistics and you're keen to grow into the rest — state licensing frameworks, ISO, SOC 2 — we'll invest in getting you there. What you'll actually be doing Licensing and regulatory relationships — where you'll spend most of your time Own the full lifecycle of our state 3PL licenses, facility registrations, and federal filings (FDA, DOT) across our North American sites, from first application through renewal. Be our go-to contact for state boards, regulatory audits, and facility inspections. Supporting the wider quality picture Work with our operations leaders to keep warehouse procedures aligned with quality and licensing standards. Help prep for
ISO 27001
audits alongside our technical team. Provide the regulatory groundwork our security team needs for SOC 2 reviews. Join cross-functional audits that look at how ready we are — regulatory and otherwise. What we're looking for The must-haves Some solid grounding in regulatory compliance, licensing, or quality work — ideally somewhere in logistics or another regulated industry. You're comfortable talking to people outside your own team — ops, tech, security — and can translate compliance-speak into plain English for them. You care about getting the details right, especially when it's a filing or a legal document on the line. Nice to have — we'll help you build the rest Some exposure to
QMS, ISO
standards, or SOC 2, even at a foundational level. A track record of spotting a bottleneck before it becomes a problem. Comfort picking up new systems and keeping pace with changing regulations. What do you need to do: Send your CV to workwithus@thevirtualforge.com, along with your salary expectations and your availability. A real person on our team reads every application. Do you have concerns about facing discrimination based on factors such as age, gender, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity? Rest assured, at The Virtual Forge, we are committed to being an inclusive employer that values diversity in our workforce! At The Virtual Forge, we have a dedicated recruitment team that works globally to fill all our recruitment needs. Therefore we don't need a response from recruitment companies. Thanks for understanding
