Housing Division General Description:

Compliance Manager CTCOG Housing Assistance Case Managers take full responsibility for tenants once they have completed the application process and been issued their Housing Choice Voucher. They will help new tenants secure housing using their Voucher, will maintain communication with them as long as they are assigned to that Case Manager, and will make certain annual recertifications are completed on time. Candidates will have a strong customer service mentality and be able to diffuse stressful situations occasionally. They will be the primary individuals tenants are in contact with, and as such must be organized and professional at all times, making sure tenant needs are handled quickly and accurately while showing respect and compassion at all times. Case Managers will use the departments Administrative Plan as their basis for all decisions made regarding tenant expectations.

Provides assistance to other Case Managers and Housing staff in a collaborative and interactive environment.

Other:

Works with Housing and pother CTCOG staff, tenants, landlords, and other constituents appropriate to job responsibilities.

Examples of Work Performed:

1. Maintain orderly office and filing areas at all times as per standard Case Manager office set up. This is required to assure continuity should a Case Manager be out unexpectedly. 2. Work with tenants for on-time processing of all paperwork, recertifications, and any issues that may arise. 3. Make certain that all paperwork submitted and items received from tenant for any reason meet CTCOG requirements for timeliness and completeness. 4. Work interactively with other staff to make certain assigned tenants are communicated with in regard to any outstanding issues. 5. Maintain a professional attitude with all individuals you come in contact with, whether from internal or external audiences.

Experience and Education:

Undergraduate degree or substantial hours towards an undergraduate degree preferred Excellent skills using MSOffice products including Word and Excel Recent experience in a Public Housing Authority issuing

Housing Choice Vouchers Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong organizational skills An understanding of how a database works Strong written and verbal communication skills A desire to interact professionally with coworkers to achieve department goals Extensive experience serving HUD Housing Choice Voucher clients or the ability to very quickly learn what is required to do so

Certificates and Licenses Required:

Certifications from HUD or other governing bodies Training certification from organizations such as Nan McKay or similar organizations

Starting Salary:

$17.00 to $23.00, based on qualifications.
