American National Insurance Company was founded in 1905 and is headquartered in Houston, TX, with several locations across the

US:

League City, TX, Springfield, MO, and Glenmont, NY.

Our Summer Internship Program is designed to provide students with meaningful, real-world corporate experience while helping build a strong, long-term talent pipeline for American National. The program blends hands-on, role-related project work with intentional learning, leadership exposure, business education, and relationship-building opportunities. In addition to contributing to their respective departments, interns will participate in professional development experiences, connect with leaders through conversational Leadership Lens sessions, gain broader business perspective through cross-company spotlight sessions, and build community with fellow interns and employees across the organization.

Our 2027 summer internship program begins on Monday, May 24 and ends on Friday, August 6. An optional extension to August 13 is available. Intern positions are paid hourly with a full-time schedule of Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, for the entirety of the program. Minimum Eligibility Requirements Enrolled in an accredited college or university

Junior standing or higher by the start of the internship; May 2027 graduates are welcome

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Available to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday

The Corporate Compliance team helps the organization navigate regulatory requirements, manage risk, and promote ethical business practices. Interns collaborate with compliance professionals and business leaders across regulatory affairs, privacy, employment compliance, governance, and reporting while receiving hands-on experience, mentorship, and professional development. What You ll Do Research regulatory requirements, industry trends, and compliance best practices

Support compliance assessments, program reviews, and regulatory examinations

Review policies, procedures, and program documentation

Analyze compliance data and help identify trends or areas for improvement

Collaborate with compliance teams and business partners on special projects Skills You ll Build Regulatory research and compliance analysis

Risk assessment and issue identification

Policy and procedure review

Data analysis and reporting

Project management and cross-functional collaboration

Professional communication and presentation skills Tools and Technical Exposure Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint

Compliance tracking and reporting systems, including RegEd CODE

Training and compliance education platforms, including NAVEX

Document, records, and policy management systems

Regulatory research resources

Emerging technology and AI applications in compliance Qualifications We re Looking For Pursuing a degree in Business, Compliance, Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Legal Studies, or a related field

Strong analytical, research, and critical-thinking skills

Excellent written and verbal communication

Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
