We are looking for an experienced Government Asset and Compliance Manager to lead property accountability and regulatory compliance efforts for government-furnished and contractor-acquired assets in Norfolk, Virginia. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate records, supporting audit preparedness, and ensuring property activities align with federal requirements and contractual obligations. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in government property administration, strong analytical judgment, and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, customers, and subcontractors.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the full lifecycle management of government property, including receiving, identification, tracking, use, transfer, inventory, and final disposition.
- Maintain adherence to applicable federal acquisition regulations, contract terms, and customer property management standards across all assigned programs.
- Compile, review, and submit property reports and supporting documentation required by customers, contracts, and regulatory agencies.
- Lead physical inventory activities, internal reviews, spot audits, and reconciliations to confirm record accuracy and asset accountability.
- Manage documentation for asset movements, maintenance history, transfers, and incidents involving lost, damaged, or destroyed property.
- Analyze variances or control issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to strengthen compliance.
- Oversee subcontractor property practices to verify required flow-down provisions are understood and properly executed.
- Collaborate with property custodians and program stakeholders to provide guidance and training on policies, procedures, and accountability expectations.
- Identify surplus or underused assets and coordinate reutilization, plant clearance, or disposal actions in accordance with governing requirements.
- Support contract closeout activities by ensuring all property obligations, records, and disposition requirements are completed on time.
