VP of Programs About the Role Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond is seeking a Director of Safety & Compliance to lead safety, risk management, and compliance efforts across our Clubs and administrative office. This role is responsible for building and maintaining systems that help ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant environment for our youth and staff. The Director will oversee safety policies and training, incident and crisis management, regulatory compliance, transportation safety, and organization-wide risk management. What You'll Do Lead BGCMR's organization-wide safety and risk management program. Conduct safety audits and site inspections and follow up on identified risks. Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, checklists, training, and documentation. Oversee incident and crisis management, including investigation, reporting, documentation, and trend tracking. Monitor compliance with BGCA safety standards and applicable regulations. Oversee transportation safety and supervise the Transportation Coordinator, including fleet and driver compliance. Establish systems for tracking incidents, safety data, and compliance documentation. Partner with Club Directors and organizational leadership to strengthen site-level safety and accountability. Serve as a key safety liaison with BGCA, the Board Safety Committee, vendors, agencies, and other partners. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in safety management, risk management, public health, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered. Professional experience in safety/risk management, compliance, operations, or transportation. Knowledge of risk assessment, incident reporting, emergency response, security, premises/property hazards, and vehicular safety. Experience developing policies, procedures, and staff training. Strong organizational, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and communicate effectively across teams. Nonprofit or youth-serving experience preferred. Ability to travel between BGCMR locations as needed. Schedule The anticipated schedule is generally Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM-6:00 PM, with flexibility for occasional evenings or weekends to support trainings, emergencies, or events.
