Job Summary:
The Director of DOT Compliance and Safety (abbr. Director of Safety) oversees and directs the staff responsible for the company's DOT Compliance and Safety services.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directs and oversees Compliance support services staff. Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with all management staff to identify and deliver the required DOT and Compliance support as well as safety training. Drafts and distributes statistical reports, analyses, and exhibits to company stakeholders and when required, to regulatory and government agencies. Responsible for all permit, licensing, and IFTA for the U.S. and Canada. Maintains the organization's DQ files and reports for all operating companies. Ensures the organization's compliance with applicable DOT rules for drivers including drug and alcohol testing. Tracks safety training across all companies. Serves as the organization's key DOT subject matter expert. Responsible for DOT Log Audits. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Thorough understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, recordkeeping systems, management information systems, and related protocols used in the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional and tactful interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a variety of personalities. Familiar with Tenstreet platform. Strong leadership and supervisory skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines. Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred. Five years of experience in the trucking industry including three years in a supervisory capacity, required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. The anticipated salary range for this role is $90,000 - $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience. This role also includes a comprehensive benefits package, including health/vision/dental, life insurance, PTO, 401k contributions, amongst other benefits.
