This role is vital in ensuring that our organization adheres to all relevant labor laws, regulations, and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Public Works Labor Compliance standards, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to maintain ethical and legal standards in workforce management.
Position Summary:
The Public Works Labor Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws on public works and construction projects. This position works closely with contractors, project managers, and regulatory agencies to monitor prevailing wage requirements, certified payroll records, and labor standards compliance. Familiarity with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle all Labor Compliance Requirements for assigned projects Review, analyze, and audit certified payroll records for project subcontractors Monitor contractor and subcontractor adherence to labor laws and contract requirements Coordinate with DIR, contractors, and internal staff regarding labor compliance issues Prepare reports, findings, and documentation related to labor compliance
Minimum Qualifications:
3 years experience working with public works labor compliance programs Working knowledge of California DIR requirements, including prevailing wage laws and certified payroll reporting Maintain Confidentiality of sensitive information Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with compliance tracking systems and standard office software-
LCP Tracker Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with a public agency or public works projects Familiarity with DIR Public Works and certified payroll systems Labor compliance certification or related coursework
Experience:
DIR labor compliance: 3 years (Required) Pay Starting From $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
