Job Description
The City of Hanford is seeking to fill one (1) Code Compliance Officer vacancy in the Community Development Department. This position is to perform work involving inspection, investigation, and enforcement of codes and ordinances including zoning, nuisance abatement, property maintenance, and health and safety.
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Receive, record, investigate, inspect, and respond to complaints regarding City codes and ordinances, and other laws, rules and regulation violations. Evaluate and gather information related to applicable ordinances, codes, laws, rules and regulations and determine proper course of action. Contact responsible parties; issue warning notices and citations; prepare evidence in support of legal actions. Coordinate investigations and compliance enforcement with City departments and outside regulatory agencies. Maintain thorough and accurate records of City code violations. Patrol assigned areas to identify and evaluate problems or potential violations. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and the public using principles of good customer service. Foster an environment that embraces diversity, integrity, trust, and respect. Be an integral team player, which involves flexibility, cooperation, and communication. Perform related duties as assigned.
