Education:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience

2+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, licensing administration, paralegal support, or corporate governance.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience utilizing licensing databases or government online portals.

Smartsheet is a plus.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Licensing Specialist will manage, obtain, and renew all required federal, state, and local business licenses, registrations, licensing permits, and tax receipts.

Will act as the primary liaison between our company and regulatory agencies, ensuring full compliance and preventing operational disruptions.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

Research and Compliance:

Research and interpret licensing laws, zoning regulations, and tax requirements at the state, county, and municipal levels for both new and existing business locations.

Application Lifecycle Management:

Prepare, submit, and track business license applications, renewals, and professional credentials from submission through final approval.

Agency Communication:

Serve as the primary point of contact for city, county, and state licensing authorities, addressing inquiries, and resolving compliance or deficiency notices.

Documentation & Recordkeeping:

Maintain an up-to-date, centralized database of all active licenses, license numbers, renewal dates, and associated fees using internal systems or compliance tracking software.

Cross-Functional Support:

Collaborate closely with the Legal, Finance, and Operations teams to gather information or documents relevant to licensing.

In-Office Functions:

Scan and process incoming mail and send out paper application packets, as needed, via FedEx.
