Data-driven problem-solving Data analysis software Full Job Description Overview Join our dynamic team as a Mortgage Compliance Specialist and play a vital role in ensuring our mortgage operations adhere to the highest standards of regulatory compliance and risk management. In this energetic and detail-oriented position, you will review pre-closing and post-closing mortgage files for regulatory accuracy, monitor changes in laws like TRID, RESPA, HMDA, and TILA, help loan officers and processors understand new compliance updates, and report and correct any compliance issues found during internal reviews. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about financial compliance, regulatory analysis, and risk mitigation within the banking and mortgage sectors. Responsibilities Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local mortgage lending regulations, including TILA (Truth in Lending Act), RESPA (Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act), and Fair Housing laws. Preparing the Loan Application Register (LAR) within the required timelines and submitting the file electronically through the
FFIEC HMDA
Platform. Analyze data for compliance trends, identify potential risks or violations, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate exposure. Oversee anti-fraud measures by implementing detection protocols, investigating suspicious activities, and collaborating with internal teams on fraud prevention strategies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial concepts, banking risk management practices, and evolving financial regulations affecting mortgage lending. Support the development and implementation of compliance management programs that align with industry best practices for financial institution investigations and regulatory adherence. Experience Proven experience in mortgage compliance, banking regulation, or financial services with a strong understanding of financial concepts such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards), and technical accounting principles. Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance analysis related to consumer protection laws, fair housing regulations and banking risk management. Familiarity with financial software tools used for compliance tracking, data analysis, and reporting purposes. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations including TILA and ACH (Automated Clearing House) is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets while maintaining meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
