Job Description

Position Summary Responsible directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Community Compliance Coordinator works closely with Property Managers and other Operations staff to ensure resident lease compliance and to coordinate available resources to assist residents in correcting problems that impede compliance. Serves as the Authority's liaison with local, state, and federal agencies as directed by the Chief Operating Officer and in cooperation with other agency leadership and/or agency property management. In addition, this role works with the executive leadership in responsibilities related to risk management and safety protocols as they may be assigned to this role. Daily work activity is conducted with considerable independence aligned with Athens Housing Authority's established policies and procedures, along with other formal and informal directives. Work in this role requires professionalism, considerable tact and the exercise of good judgment in effecting compliance. Work in this role is reviewed through discussions, evaluation of reports, records, and effectiveness of results. Major Duties and Responsibilities The statements contained here reflect general details as necessary to describe the principal functions of the Community Compliance Coordinator position, the level of knowledge and skill typically required and the scope of responsibility but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Individuals functioning in this role may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise balance the workload. The functions listed are also examples of duties that may be required and in no way imply a contractual agreement between the employer and employee or affect the at-will relationship between the parties. 1. Investigates, prepares, and provides reports related to safety and identified exposures of risks to Property Manager(s), Chief Operating Officer, and Human Resources Administrator as appropriate for all criminal incidents and risk events that occur on Athens Housing Authority property. 2. Coordinates anti-crime and security programs for residents. 3. Coordinates parking rules and regulations throughout all Athens Housing Authority properties. Including parking permits issuance, parking enforcement and vehicle towing. 4. Assist Chief Operating Officer as an alternate liaison with Athens-Clarke County Police Department, as well as other State and Federal law enforcement agencies, ensuring compliance with any applicable agreements between the Athens Housing Authority and the various law enforcement agencies. 5. Engages in conducting home visits with new housing residents working closely with property management teams to conduct resident experience orientations. 6. In cooperation with property management, they may coordinate and participate in both informal and formal resident hearings to assist residents in resolving lease violations. 7. Works closely with Property Management Teams to identify and address areas of resident lease noncompliance. 8. Works with the Maintenance Teams to monitor vacant units. 9. Assists in identifying issues involving resident's lack of adherence to health and safety standards established by HUD, City Codes, or Athens Housing Authority making referrals to appropriate Athens Housing Authority staff or community organizations to effect remedial actions. 10. May attend and testify at hearings and/or court where resident is being evicted for failure to comply with the terms of the lease. 11. May be called upon by police officers to make property damage estimates to be included in the officer's incident report. 12. Maintains bar list and secures warrants against trespassers when necessary. 13. Maintains lighting schedule to ensure safety of the property. 14. Patrols developments during business hours, and as needed, during non-traditional hours, for unlawful activities, loitering, etc., and if necessary, contacts law enforcement agencies to assist. 15. May assist Chief Operating Officer in the development of monthly reports recapping lease violations, police reports, evictions, etc. 16. Performs other related duties as required. The Athens Housing Authority will provide reasonable accommodation provided that the individual is otherwise qualified to safely perform the duties and assignments connected with the job and provided that any accommodation made do not require significant difficulty or expense.
