Job Description

About the role:

Greiner Bio-One, N.A. is seeking a Legal Counsel, Americas to support the Head of Legal & Compliance, Americas across the Greiner entities operating in North and South America. This is a broad, hands-on role for a commercially minded attorney who wants real ownership of day-to-day legal and compliance work in a regulated, manufacturing-driven environment.



You will draft and negotiate commercial agreements, advise business leaders on legal and regulatory risk, and help maintain and implement the group's compliance program across the region - partnering directly with the business to turn legal analysis into clear, practical guidance.



Key Responsibilities

LEGAL ADVISORY & CONTRACTING
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements across the Americas region.
  • Assess and advise business leaders on the legal and compliance risks presented by commercial arrangements.
  • Advise business units on legal and compliance risk in day-to-day operations, including U.S. employment laws (with a focus on NC, TX, and PA).
  • Support contract lifecycle management and maintain the regional contract database.
  • Conduct legal research across multiple jurisdictions and distill it into actionable guidance for the business.
REGULATORY & COMPLIANCE
  • Advise on competition, intellectual property, data privacy, and employment law as applicable to the region.
  • Support implementation and monitoring of group compliance policies.
  • Assist with internal investigations and maintain compliance documentation.
  • Support internal and external audits and help deliver compliance training.
EXTERNAL COORDINATION
  • Manage relationships with external counsel under the direction of the Head of Legal & Compliance, Americas.
  • Support responses to regulatory inspections and inquiries.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong academic record, including undergraduate and law degrees (JD or equivalent).
  • Admission to a U.S. state bar; North Carolina admission strongly preferred.
  • 3 to 7 years of post-qualification legal experience, including commercial contract drafting, negotiation, and risk assessment.
  • Sound legal judgment and the ability to translate legal analysis into clear, practical business advice.
  • Willingness to work on-site at our Monroe, N.

C. office at least four days per week, and travel to sites in Pennsylvania and Texas on an as-needed basis.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Some law firm or Big Law experience and training.
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing, medical device, diagnostics, or other regulated business.
  • Familiarity with FDA and/or medical device regulations (e.

g., ISO 13485, ISO 9001, EU

MDR/IVDR

).

  • Working proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or German, and international or cross-border experience.

  • Ability to manage a varied workload independently and prioritize effectively.
  • Discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
