Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bank Loan Compliance Officer. The Loan Compliance Officer will be responsible for monitoring lending activities to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, internal policies, and regulatory guidance. This position will work closely with lending, loan operations, underwriting, and senior management to identify compliance risks, conduct reviews, provide guidance, and help ensure that the bank's loan processes are fair, accurate, consistent, and compliant. Key Duties and Responsibilities Monitor consumer and commercial lending activities for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and bank policies. Conduct periodic compliance reviews and testing of loan files, documentation, disclosures, and procedures. Review loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance. Monitor compliance with applicable lending requirements, including fair lending, disclosure, adverse action, and consumer protection requirements. Assist with monitoring requirements under regulations such as Regulation B (ECOA), Regulation Z (TILA), Regulation X (RESPA), HMDA, FCRA, and applicable state lending laws, as appropriate to the bank's products. Identify potential compliance violations, trends, and areas of increased regulatory risk. Document findings and prepare compliance reports for management and/or the Board Compliance Committee. Recommend corrective actions and work with business units to resolve identified compliance issues. Provide compliance guidance and training to lending and loan operations personnel. Support the bank's overall risk-management and compliance program. Perform other compliance-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Compliance, or a related field; equivalent banking experience may be considered. 4-7 years of experience in banking, lending, loan operations, compliance, audit, or risk management. Working knowledge of federal and state lending laws and regulations. Strong understanding of loan documentation and lending processes. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies and compliance risks. Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with lending and compliance teams. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word. Preferred Experience working with a bank, credit union, mortgage lender, or financial institution. Experience conducting loan compliance testing or internal audits. Familiarity with regulatory examination processes. Experience with compliance management systems and loan origination systems. Knowledge of fair lending, CRA, BSA/AML, UDAAP/UDAP, and consumer protection requirements is preferred.
