Spirit Defense - Associate Business & Compliance Analyst
Job Description
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, at Spirit's Defense Business Unit ("Spirit Defense"). Position Responsibilities:
Monitor Spirit for financial compliance with the U.S. Government rules and regulations Regularly reviews operations to ensure accounting complies with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and supplements and the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) Identify weaknesses and issues and recommend corrective actions to mitigate and strengthen processes adherence as they relate to the accounting and associated systems Remain current on applicable U.S. Government regulations, industry best practices, newsletters, media, and information that support compliance standards Support CAS violation remediation or inconsistencies in disclosed practices Ensure continuous improvement by assisting accounting compliance team with development and execution of a comprehensive Government Compliance program which includes coaching, formal training, newsletters, and various forms of communication to build, maintain, and improve U.S. Government compliance capability and control Respectfully challenge any inconsistencies to ensure full compliance, and aggressively address and fix issues Liaison with the U.S. Government agencies of DCAA and DCMA during their reviews and audits to ensure continued compliance Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience): Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access (for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship) Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field Experience in a Business & Compliance classification / position 2+ years of accounting and/or related experience Ability to understand and apply U.S. Government regulations and ensure strict adherence to FAR, CAS, andGAAP/SOX
requirements Ability to work with functional and program teams to abide by and follow relevant policies, procedures, and desktop instructions Ability to educate others on process controls and U.S. Government Compliance requirements Ability to work with U.S Government auditors in a collaborative and transparent manner Strong communication, writing, critical thinking, and computer skills Possess significant Excel skills Ability to quickly analyze data Detail-oriented Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Active DoD Secret Security Clearance Auditing, government compliance, and/or regulatory oversight experience Strong background in Accounting, Finance, Cost & Pricing Data, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Project Management, Contracts, and/or Business & Compliance Working knowledge ofSAP Union:
