Baltimore Street\r\nBaltimore, MD 21202\r\n Main Purpose of Job The main purpose of this position is assisting the Division in ensuring employers' compliance with MD workers' compensation laws. MD law requires all employers of at least one covered employee to maintain workers' compensation insurance for that employee. This position will work with the Director to further develop the proof of coverage program with the MD Department of Labor. A proof of coverage program will be maintained by this position. Additionally, review Exclusion forms for acceptance/rejection by the Commission.\r\n
POSITION DUTIES
Prepare and run a data match with WCC data and MDL data to\r\ndetermine employers maintaining Unemployment Insurance accounts and not\r\ncarrying workers' compensation insurance. Prepare letters to employers\r\nidentified in the data run and monitor responses. \r\nAssist with the preparation of monthly correspondence to\r\nemployers who have cancelled their insurance policies.� \r\nWork with data provided by the National Council on\r\nCompensation Insurance ("NCCI") to determine the MD employers to be contacted\r\nregarding their cancellation of insurance. Answer questions and address\r\nconcerns raised by the employers who are contacted. \r\nWork in conjunction with the Employer Compliance Lead\r\nregarding employer compliance enforcement, including correspondence with\r\nuninsured employers, setting Show/Cause hearings and follow up when the\r\nCommission issues an order to obtain insurance. \r\nReview Exclusion Forms for acceptance/rejection and answer\r\nquestions/assist the public with completion and submission of the forms.\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
���Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r\n
Experience:
Two years of administrative staff or professional work. \r\n

\r\n1. Candidates may substitute 30�credit hours from an accredited college or university for�one�year of the required experience.\r\n2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree�from a college or university for the required experience.\r\n3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included�regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required�experience. \r\n

Preferred Qualifications:
\r\n�\r\n1.�������� Possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or\r\nuniversity. \r\n2.�������� One\r\nor more years of experience working with databases and performing data matches\r\nto research/locate and monitor businesses and individuals. \r\n3.�������� Proficiency\r\nwith Microsoft Word and Excel, including experience importing data into Excel,\r\nformatting data in Excel, tracking data in Excel and using mail merge in Word\r\nusing Excel data. \r\n4.�������� Successful\r\ncompletion of at least one college level three (3) credit Technical Writing\r\ncourse from an accredited four-year college or university.\r\n

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n
