Job Description

Job Summary The DOT Compliance Coordinator supports safe and compliant fleet operations by monitoring driver performance, vehicle inspections, and regulatory documentation. This role oversees DVIR and Samsara compliance, reviews yard surveillance for proper securement, responds to accidents, and assists with driver hiring and onboarding. The Compliance Coordinator also tracks IFTA reporting, FMCSA inspections, and required vehicle inspections while partnering with supervisors to address deficiencies and enforce corrective actions. Responsibilities Monitor daily driver walkarounds and support DVIR compliance using Samsara. Track driver assignments, performance scores, and driving behavior through Samsara. Monitor yard surveillance footage daily, ensuring proper securement of equipment and reporting any abnormal activity. Respond to vehicle accidents, conduct investigations, and complete required reporting. Track quarterly IFTA fuel reporting. Participate in driver hiring through CDL-focused testing and assist with new driver orientation. Identify and coach unsafe driving patterns; recommend or enforce corrective actions. Maintain accurate DVIR records and assist superintendents with documentation and accountability. Track and log FMCSA inspections; analyze trends and report findings. Support distribution of vehicles and related company documentation. Monitor and track Annual Inspections (COMAR) and coordinate with mechanics when due. Track specialized vehicle inspections (Aerial Lift, Dielectric, etc.). Audit vehicle compliance at job sites and report deficiencies to supervisors. Perform additional duties as assigned. Requirements CDL License preferred Strong knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulations Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Samsara, etc.) Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to climb in and out of commercial vehicles (steps, cabs, utility trucks, aerial lift trucks, etc.). Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, and kneel Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 25-35 lbs Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions during yard checks or jobsite audits. Ability to sit for periods of time when completing reports, reviewing surveillance, and monitoring Samsara data. Good visual acuity to inspect vehicles, review camera footage, and identify safety issues. Good hearing ability to communicate with drivers, respond on-site to incidents, and hear alarms or alerts if necessary. Ability to drive a company vehicle regularly for site visits and inspections. Pay:
$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
