Job Description
Personal Support Professional (D irect Support / Personal Care Assistant)

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable Personal Support Professional to provide daily assistance and support to an individual in a home and community-based setting. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, attentive, and passionate about helping others maintain independence and quality of life. Responsibilities Daily Living Assistance (ADLs Training):- Provide assistance with personal hygiene and grooming, including oral care, bathing, skin care, hair care, and nail maintenance.
- Support appropriate clothing selection based on season and daily activities, and assist with dressing as needed.
- Promote independence and skill development through step-by-step guidance, encouragement, and positive reinforcement.
Household Skills Development:
- Supervise and support household cleaning tasks, including bedroom organization, bed making, vacuuming, and trash removal.
- Assist with maintaining common living areas, including dining and computer spaces, sweeping floors, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Provide instruction and oversight on proper dishwashing practices, including safe and effective use of a dishwasher.
- Teach and support laundry skills, including sorting, washing, drying, and folding clothing.
Meal Preparation Training:
- Provide instruction in safe, basic meal preparation, including appropriate use of a microwave.
- Assist with reading and understanding food packaging instructions and gathering required dish-ware and utensils.
- Support proper portioning, storage, and handling of leftovers in accordance with food safety guidelines.
Community Engagement & Social Skills Training:
- Supervise and encourage participation in community-based activities, including recreational outings, fitness activities, social engagements, and attendance at scheduled appointments.
Educational & Independent Living Training:
- Facilitate participation in online instructional programs focused on activities of daily living (ADLs), home organization, and street safety.
- Provide guidance in money management skills, including identifying currency, making purchases, and basic budgeting.
- Reinforce use of task lists, schedules, and time-management strategies to support completion of daily routines.
Additional Personal Activities:
- Providing transportation to medical appointments, gym sessions, and other scheduled outings
- Providing daily interaction, companionship, and general oversight
- Monitoring well-being and communicating any concerns as needed
- Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the individual at all times Qualifications
- Previous experience in personal support, caregiving, or a related field preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable, patient, and respectful demeanor
- Patience, reliability, and a passion for helping individuals gain independence.
- Ability to encourage skill development while ensuring safety.
- Must be able to assist with light physical activities and household tasks. Requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism (follow HIPPA guidelines)
- Ability to pass background checks and fingerprint screening Schedule
- Full-Time
Monday, Friday:
7:30 AM- 5:00 PM
Weekends:
