The position will be appointed as a Drug Affordability Compliance Officer with an annual salary range from $70,431.37 to $103,186.57.

The Attorney General has broad oversight of the state's legal and law enforcement matters. As the head of the Department of Law & Public Safety, the Attorney General supervises a wide range of Divisions, Offices, and Commissions, consisting of over 2,800 sworn law enforcement officers, 600 attorneys, and thousands of other public servants.

The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs protects the public from fraud, deceit, misrepresentation and professional misconduct in the sale of goods and services in New Jersey through education, advocacy, regulation and enforcement. The Division pursues its mission through its 51 professional and occupational boards that oversee 720,000 licensees in the state, its Regulated Business section that oversees 60,000 NJ registered businesses, as well as through its Office of Consumer Protection, Bureau of Securities, Charities Registration section, Office of Weights and Measures, and Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission.

Since its creation in 1978, ODCA has played a valuable role in protecting consumer interests. ODCA has been an Office of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment and has primarily concentrated on enforcing consumer legislation and providing information to consumers.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Under the direction of
Executive Director:
Review reports and other submissions of reporting entities (e.g., Manufacturers, pharmacy benefits managers, wholesalers, carriers, and pharmacy services administrative organizations) to determine compliance with the Prescription Drug Price Transparency law and Division regulations; will be responsible for identifying and investigating gaps or non-compliance in reported information; Investigate questionable practices by reporting entities, including review of drug price increases; use of manufacturer drug rebates; drug formulary changes. Aid in compiling relevant information for the Division's required Annual Report so it includes compliance and enforcement landscape and trends. Monitor and report on changes to prescription drug pricing and transparency at the federal level (CMS, FTC, etc.), and performs other related duties as assigned or required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Seven (7) years of professional experience in the conduct of civil or criminal investigations related to compliance, enforcement, detection, and surveillance activity, including the preparation of investigative reports. OR Seven (7) years of professional experience in the conduct of investigative administrative audits and/or regulatory examinations of records maintained by businesses and organizations. OR Seven (7) years of professional experience in the conduct of investigations for the government, the military, consumer protection programs, public advocacy organizations, or the public interest. OR Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and three (3) years of the above-mentioned professional experience. OR Possession of a juris doctorate or a master's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration, Law, or a related field; and two (2) years of the above-mentioned professional experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in health administration, public health, and or health economics.
