Job Overview ABA Day by Day is a mission-driven organization dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental and cognitive differences through compassionate, evidence-based services. We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Part-Time Driver to transport children safely and reliably to and from our programs and other approved destinations. This position is ideal for someone who is punctual, professional, comfortable working with children, and able to manage a flexible split-shift schedule. Responsibilities Safely transport children according to assigned routes and schedules. Ensure timely pickups and drop-offs. Follow all traffic laws, company transportation policies, and safety procedures. Maintain appropriate supervision of children while in transit. Assist children with safe entry into and exit from the vehicle. Ensure proper use of seat belts, car seats, booster seats, and other safety equipment when applicable. Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and monitor fuel levels. Promptly report mechanical, maintenance, or safety concerns. Complete transportation logs, mileage records, inspection reports, and incident documentation. Communicate delays, route changes, cancellations, or scheduling concerns to the appropriate team members. Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, Administrative staff, and Clinical staff. Follow established procedures during accidents, vehicle breakdowns, behavioral incidents, medical situations, or weather-related emergencies. Safeguard company vehicles, keys, fuel cards, and transportation equipment. Maintain client confidentiality and follow applicable privacy requirements. Complete required company trainings and maintain ongoing transportation compliance. Minimum Qualifications Valid New Jersey driver's license . Acceptable driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review . Ability to provide a current NJ Driver History Abstract upon request. Ability to successfully complete required background screening. Reliable and punctual with strong time-management skills. Ability to communicate professionally with children, families, and staff. Ability to follow assigned routes, schedules, policies, and safety procedures. Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during unexpected situations. Preferred Qualifications Previous professional driving or transportation experience. Experience working with or transporting children. Experience working with children with developmental, behavioral, or special needs. Experience in an ABA, behavioral health, educational, healthcare, or social-service environment.
