Job Description

Description:
The Compliance Specialist supports the Corporate Compliance Officer in implementing and maintaining Inspire's Corporate Compliance Programs. The position assists with compliance monitoring, audits, documentation, incident reporting, records management, employee training, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions:
Assist with routine compliance audits, monitoring activities, file reviews, and documentation reviews as directed. Assist with compliance-related investigations by gathering records and documentation, organizing information, preparing investigation files, and documenting findings under the direction of the Corporate Compliance & Privacy Officer. Assist in reviewing reportable incidents for compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and help prepare required documentation and reports to agencies, including OPWDD, OCFS, NYSED, and other regulatory authorities. Assist with maintaining and updating compliance and privacy policies, procedures, forms, educational materials, and related documentation. Assist with coordinating compliance and privacy training, including maintaining training records and communicating training requirements to employees. Maintain accurate and organized compliance records, including audit documentation, investigation files, corrective action documentation, regulatory reports, training records, and other compliance-related materials. Assist with records management activities, including the organization, retention, retrieval, archival storage, and authorized destruction of records in accordance with applicable laws and Inspire policies. Assist with responding to authorized requests for records and information, including subpoenas and other requests, under the direction of the Corporate Compliance & Privacy Officer. Assist with communicating compliance and privacy requirements to employees and departments as directed. Assist department leaders with compliance-related questions and requests and refer complex or sensitive matters to the Corporate Compliance & Privacy Officer. Assist with tracking corrective action plans and follow-up activities resulting from audits, investigations, incidents, and regulatory reviews. Maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive employee, student, client, and organizational information. Obtain and maintain required Investigator Certification and assist with investigations in accordance with Inspire policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Additional Functions:
Adheres to safety policies and procedures. Insures that clients/students/program participants receive services in a safe environment. Encourages co-workers to follow safety policies and procedures. Reports any potential unsafe conditions to supervisor and/or Safety Committee. Follows current policies and procedures regarding compliance with privacy, security and corporate compliance policies. Be thoroughly familiar with department and program specific policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Qualifications :
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Human Services, Compliance, Public Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of administrative, compliance, healthcare, human services, quality assurance, records management, or related experience. Experience working in healthcare, human services, special education, nonprofit, or other regulated environment preferred. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and oversight agencies such as OPWDD, OCFS, and NYSED preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
