Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated MSHA Compliance Officer / Quality Control professional to lead our efforts in maintaining rigorous safety standards and regulatory compliance within the mining environment. This role is vital in ensuring adherence to Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations, fostering a culture of safety, and supporting quality assurance initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in regulatory compliance management, safety protocols, and quality control processes, with a passion for promoting a safe and compliant workplace. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence safety practices and uphold the highest standards of operational excellence. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor MSHA compliance programs to ensure adherence to federal safety regulations across all operations. Conduct regular inspections and audits of mining sites to identify potential hazards and ensure safety protocols are followed. Lead investigations into safety incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, safety, engineering, and legal to ensure comprehensive compliance management. Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, incident reports, training sessions, and regulatory documentation for audit purposes. Prepare and submit required MSHA reports, documentation, and notifications in accordance with federal guidelines. Stay current on evolving MSHA regulations, industry best practices, and health regulation policies to continuously improve safety standards. Qualifications Proven experience in MSHA compliance management or related safety roles within the mining or heavy industry sectors. Strong knowledge of MSHA regulations, health regulation policies, and federal safety standards applicable to mining operations. Familiarity with regulatory affairs related to mining safety, including OSHA standards and other relevant agencies. Experience with regulatory compliance analysis, risk management strategies, and regulatory submissions. Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple compliance projects simultaneously. Proficiency with compliance management software and data analysis tools to track safety metrics and generate reports. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration and reporting. Knowledge of ISO standards applicable to mining operations (e.g., ISO ) is preferred. Ability to interpret complex regulations such as ICH guidelines or EMA regulations is a plus.
