GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs a variety of administrative, technical and entry level grant management functions. Works closely to assist all Grants staff and the public on matters related to Grants and Grant Planning. Works closely with the Grants staff to assist with state and federal grant reporting.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
General oversight is usually received from the Grants Compliance Administrator and reports to the Grants Manager.

Exercise supervision over no one.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
" Provides technical and administrative support to the Grants staff and grant recipients. " Provides technical and administrative support to the Grants Team with regard to HUD and State Funding. Tasks primarily include contract entry, expense tracking, writing resolutions and ordinances, and other administrative tasks related to grant reporting. Assembles and generates materials to support staff, satisfying grant reporting requirements. " Develops and maintains detailed tracking systems for all federal and state grants from application through grant closure. " Attends public meetings, assisting other Grant staff as appropriate. " Assists with the preparation of staff reports. " Assists in file management, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval of necessary documents. These include, but are not limited to, files on organizations, as well as state and federal grants. " Prepare minutes of meetings held by the Grants Department. " Provides quality and effective customer service with courtesy and understanding to City customers, citizens and internal departments.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or Management, Social Sciences or related field and one (1) year experience in public policy, grant administration and/or accounting; or a Bachelor's Degree with 0-1 year experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
" Knowledge of basic grant funding process and federal grant programs. " Knowledge of grants administration and accounting, including budgeting, financial reporting, compliance with funding guidelines, and oversight of grant expenditures. " Knowledge of principles and practices of research and data collection. " Knowledge of effective writing techniques. " Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment (i.e., computer, calculators, fax machines, copier). " Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions. " Knowledge or ability to learn IDIS. " Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public and establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, other employees, and the public. May have to sit for extended periods of time to read large amounts of information " Ability to learn through on-line education
